Our Pastor: Rev. Dr. Darnell M. Lundy

       

        Reverend Dr. Darnell M. Lundy is a native of Brooklyn, New York. There he attended school, accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Evening Star Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York. He served in the United States Army and is a Vietnam veteran. He retired from AT&T after 30 years in Telecommunications, of which 8 years were as a Project Manager.

        Rev. Lundy was called by God to preach the Gospel in 1989. He was licensed to preach the Gospel by Bright Light Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., on October 15, 1989 and was ordained by the same church on December 19, 1992.

        While in fellowship with Evening Star Baptist Church, in Brooklyn, New York, he served in the capacities of Assistant Director of the Baptist Training Union, Male Chorus, and Senior Choir. During his membership at Bright Light Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., he was an active member of their ministerial staff, Chairman of the Trustee Board, Sunday School teacher, member of the Finance Committee, Male Chorus, Pastor’s Choir, Senior Choir, Male Fellowship, and Youth Advisor. Rev. Lundy has also served as an Auxiliary Chaplain at the Lorton Correctional Facility in Lorton, VA.

        Serving the Lord, family and education are three properties for Rev. Lundy. As an advocate of education, he has obtained a Bachelor of Theology degree, a Master of Ministry, a Doctorate of Ministry, and a Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling from Andersonville Baptist Seminary. He is a certified instructor with the Evangelical Training Association in Wheaton, Illinois to teach various religious courses for the betterment of self, church and those whom he has the opportunity to instruct. Rev. Lundy served as the Second-Vice Moderator and the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association for the 2004-2005 term. He now serves as the 1st Vice Moderator of the Piedmont District Baptist Association.

        Rev. Lundy served as one of the former pastors of the Providence Baptist Church located in Orlean, Virginia. In October 1997, he accepted the call to pastor Main Uno Baptist Church in Rochelle, Virginia. He is also the Founder and President of the Main Uno Baptist Church Bible Institute which was established in 1999. Rev. Lundy has truly been blessed with visions from God. It is evident by the work that is being done and the growth of the Main Uno Baptist Church.

        Rev. Lundy bases the strength of his ministry on God’s Word that says “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” As he continues to work, he is focused on the fact that his labor of love for Christ is driven by the inner strength that comes from the Christ that dwells within him.

 

He currently resides in Culpeper, VA.
